Erich Kamprath - Origin Story

A Foundation of Hard Work – Formative Era

I grew up on a farm in Northern Alberta, where I learned the value of hard work, attention to detail, and doing the job right the first time. These principles shaped my approach to construction and now guide my work as a professional home and property inspector serving Kelowna, Vernon, Lake Country, and the surrounding Okanagan region in Beautiful British Columbia.

After completing a extensive renovation and seeing how confusing and inconsistent workmanship can be, I was motivated to become a home inspector who prioritizes education, clarity, and confidence for buyers.

From long days in the field to hands-on home diagnostics, that foundation continues to influence how I inspect homes today: carefully, thoroughly, and with pride in the work.

Education and Skills - University Era

After graduating as valedictorian, I went on to achieve two undergraduate degrees, developing key interpersonal skills:

Communication – Explaining complex systems in clear, plain language.
Client Relations – Understanding the stress and emotions that go into the giant home purchase decision.
Problem Solving – Facilitating collaboration between all parties for home education and conflict reduction.
Organization – Applying a structured, efficient inspection process built around clarity, alignment, and commitment — so clients always know what matters most.

These skills allow me to not only inspect a home thoroughly, but to help educate clients to truly understand what they are buying into.

Construction Experience - Hammer Era

Before becoming a home inspector, I spent summer seasons and further years working hands-on in residential construction.

Concrete – Flat and vertical prep, pour, and finish.
Framing – Full residential framing.
Excavation & exterior plumbing – Equipment operation, site grade prep, weeping tile and city service connections.
Electrician – Class C work with Class B prerequisites.
Renovation & finish carpentry – Complete gut and renovation of a BC-Box style home.

This broad construction background, combined with strong communication skills, has created an ideal foundation for the quality-focused home inspector I am today.

The Personal Touch - Family Era

I have done extensive traveling, including time spent in China, where I met my wife, Peiling. These experiences have shaped my professional approach by deepening my understanding of people, communication styles, and client needs from diverse backgrounds. We now reside in Lake Country, Okanagan, and welcomed our daughter, Hazel, in April 2025 — a feisty young lady who couldn’t wait to arrive!
